Morris Langlo West AO (26 April – 9 October ) was an Australian novelist and playwright, best known for his novels The Devil's Advocate (), The Shoes of the Fisherman () and The Clowns of God (). Morris West was an Australian novelist noted for such best-sellers as The Devil’s Advocate () and The Shoes of the Fisherman (). Educated at the University of Melbourne, West taught modern languages and mathematics as a member of the Christian Brothers order in New South Wales and Tasmania.
