Anna Smith Strong (Ap – Aug) [1]: of Setauket, New York was an American Patriot. Anna was one of the few female members of the Culper Spy Ring during the American Revolution. Anna Smith Strong was a member of the Culper Spy Ring, a group of Patriots who gathered intelligence for George Washington during the Revolutionary War. She used her laundry to signal the arrival of Caleb Brewster, a courier who crossed the Long Island Sound to deliver messages to Abraham Woodhull, the leader of the ring.
