Marcel Proust was a French novelist who wrote ‘A la recherche du temps perdu’ (‘In Search of Lost Time’; –27), a seven-volume novel based on Proust’s life told psychologically and allegorically. It is one of the supreme achievements in modern fiction and is considered the world’s longest novel.
